SORRY TO RAIN ON THE BEACH PARTY
*Behind the scenes video coming soon*
Okay, I feel like some of this content just got much darker. Part of me is like “geez, Chandler, throw something cheery in now!” But that’s just how life is sometimes.
I started this song as something quiet and somber, then I brought it to the band and Jordan turned it into an amazing guitar driven power ballad. I literally might have teared up like a little baby for a few minutes when I heard the master we got back from our producer the second Jordan’s solo hit.
Okay, so here’s where this song got almost a bit too real for me. I sat on it for a long time. Like you do with all new songs that mean something to you, am I right?
One day Jordan and I were getting a practice in. We were running this song with all the exciting guitar action that Jordan added. It was actually in the middle of a tornado. The lights started to flicker – we kept going, then in the middle of Jordan’s super epic guitar solo – BOOM the lights were gone and the power to the whole house went out.
I like to think it was his solo. I stepped outside. I didn’t even know about the tornado – but apparently the roof was ripped off an apartment building about a mile away at that moment.

LYRICS
I can’t take one more step towards hopelessness
And I won’t change for you
I can’t make you fall for this, merciless
I’m too weak to watch you cry
Silent rain
grabs the car door
window pain
pull me open
Birds sing an empty chorus
Words form a hopeless romance
I don’t feel things that I don’t notice
Arms out and windows open
Hopeless moment, open
Looking out empty windows
Filling me with hopeless moments
Open with the light of whispers
Silent rain
grabs the car door
window pain
pull me open
Birds sing an empty chorus
Words form a hopeless romance
I don’t feel things that I don’t notice
Arms out and windows open
Birds sing an empty chorus
Words form a hopeless romance
I don’t feel things that I don’t notice
Arms out and windows open
Scared as hell I brace myself
With open eyes and a closed off conscience
Fill the quiet silence violence
Hitting walls and kissing closets
I’m afraid to touch what’s closest
Birds sing an empty chorus
Words form a hopeless romance
I don’t feel things that I don’t notice
Arms out and windows open
Birds sing an empty chorus
Words form a hopeless romance
I don’t feel things that I don’t notice
Arms out and windows open
